On the 19th of January, local stakeholders met in the Krakow City Hall to discuss possible cooperation in the CYBERSEC HUB. More than thirty representatives of Krakow’s scientific community, as well as business, local authorities and NGOs discussed the common efforts that have to be made in order to create center of excellence in cybersecurity. The first important step towards that goal was taken during the meeting: the Kosciuszko Institute, Municipality of Krakow and Krakow’s universities announced that they are planning to sign a special agreement to facilitate further cooperation. As stressed by Izabela Albrycht, Chairperson of the Kosciuszko Institute, the CYBERSEC HUB creates a unique chance for the development of the innovative cybersecurity sector in the Malopolska region. “For more than 3 years, we have been actively supporting the development of Krakow’s new cyber technologies. We organize the annual European Cybersecurity Forum – CYBERSEC, which gathers key political officials as well as world-class experts in the field of cybersecurity. We also support the acceleration of cybersecurity start-ups, helping them to scale up and internationalize their offer.” Krakow’s great potential in the cybersecurity sector has also been emphasized by Jacek Majchrowski, the Mayor of Krakow, in his interview with CYBERSEC TV.
